“LOVE: ONE WAY OR OTHER” – Shubhani Jha

At the very first, let me be clear I am not one of those kinds who madly fall in love and turn poetic. Nor I am among those who can read between the lines of those insanely written love quotes. Neither I belong to the category of fairytale-obsessed girls, who dream of prince charming on a white horse with looks like Tom Cruise and personality like Johnny Depp, among all others, coming to them in the epic Shahrukh khan pose and making another shitty Bollywood masala movie story (no offence). I am kind of different or maybe not, but I surely was, unless I grew up and the things like love, attraction, infatuation and crush made its grand entry with “Her Highness Adolescence” into my life, like any other random teenage girl.

Romance is still a source of sitcom for me but I have started to drift along with its depth and to go beyond its definition. Vague but I have tried. I still find those quotes gross, however. Love is an enchanter indeed, isn’t it? Or else a happy-go-lucky person turns sensible in some days, a carefree teenager understands the gravity of worldly affairs, a family oriented person leaves his family for love. People fight for their love. People also fight with their love. Never know why love involves fight? These two words are opposite of each other, aren’t they? But at the same time these two words justify each other.college love

So, what is this love? 4 words of godly bliss and each having the weightage of countless emotions. Nevertheless, love has always been in my life. I love my family. I love my friends. I love my relatives. They too reciprocate their love without any expectation of being loved in the same way. Is the love we find in our growing process something bizarre then? They both have the same spellings and same meanings, so how come they differ? Love doesn’t bound within expectations, so why do we expect our partners to reciprocate, and when they don’t we find all the silly ways of expressing our feelings to this shitty world who gives damn to us. Our family and friends don’t keep such expectations, do they? They just love. Not because they want to but because they actually do.

I still can’t believe I am writing about love. Knowingly yet without passion. I don’t know what love is and how it works out.  All I know is you can’t force yourself or others to love. Yes, it drives you crazy sometimes and you go tipsy with feelings but is that the love all yearn for? I have seen people having crush, falling in love the next day and breaking up the day after. I have also seen people craving for someone and waiting for years. Some says love happens once. The other chunk says it can happen umpteenth times. All I know is, there is a thin line between infatuation and love, and people who can sail across it, live their love eternally. Above all, why should I be worrying? I don’t have a love story. Wait, do I?
