Youth For Blood Through My Eyes – Ronak Agarwal

Youth For Blood Through My Eyes – Ronak Agarwal

My social life journey started from the ground of YOUTH FOR BLOOD.

First day at YFB office
Couple of years ago, I went to Youth For Blood's building which was situated at Roadcess. As I entered the building, I first met Mr. Dipesh Dhimal in the hall. He warmly welcomed and took me inside the office. Inside the office I saw, the then YFB President Mr. Sabin Dahal and member Mr. Ankit Das. All the members present there were treating me very politely. Actually I had gone there to know about YFB and what it do? The three of them explained me very nicely about YFB. And In between the conversation Mr. Ankit told me that YFB was going to organize cricket series and he also asked me to join if I was interested. I immediately answered that I wanted to join. Then I played in that series. That was how I became affiliated to YFB.

First sharing day
Sharing day is the weekly program of YFB that is conducted every Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm. In this program, all the members gathers in the office and share different things orally like, productive works done within the week, future plans, ideas, problems, suggestions, etc. This way they not only share joys and sorrows but also improves their speaking skills. And listening to the weekly activities of the members really helps the listener in many ways. Before joining YFB, I used to give speeches in front of the mass. But actually my speeches wasn't that interesting for those who were listening because of compulsion. But after joining YFB, I have improved my skills in delivering speeches by changing my voice tone according to situation. I got versatility in my voice. I learned to make eye contact and my hand movements improved too. These are the interpersonal skills which I developed after joining YFB. Two of my memorable speeches i developed after joining YFB were, "First one during my presentation in class. After my presentation my Teacher Kiran Madam told that my presentation was far better than the other, due to my clear voice and hand movements. That was perfect to gain the attention of whole class." "Second one was in a college's annual program, I was asked to give 2 minutes speech about college in front of thousands of people. Problem was, I was informed just 10 minutes before the speech. Generally, 2 mins is a small time but for me it was 120 seconds in front of 2k+ peoples. But at the end, I was delivering my speech in such a way that the crowd was cheering after each and every sentences I was delivering. And the best part was my seniors and teachers were impressed with my skills." Today I've full confidence in myself that I can give better presentation than some of my other friends. And it's all because of YFB. So I'm really blessed to join YFB because in YFB, I developed my interpersonal skills. Now I can go anywhere and deliver my thoughts at anytime without any hesitation. Thank you YFB for all those claps which I got. From the first SHARING DAY to till today, I tried to attend all them no matter whether it's raining hard outside or it's the hottest/coldest day of the year. For me attending sharing day is the most important thing as it is the most important platform from where I can learn so many small things about life. And in SHARING DAY, we also play different new games. And even those games were old ones which we used to play when we were a kid we play with the same childish mood. We enjoy a lot in SHARING DAY. And best part is clicking selfies at the end with everyone. Just imagine the atmosphere when we all clicks selfies. Really we make fun and enjoy that particular moment.

Memorable Moments
In YFB, I made many caring brothers and loving sisters. Our YFB is like a large joint family where we can share our joys and sorrows and can enjoy our special days together. We celebrate each other's birthday and other special occasions together. I spend hours at YFB office but still I never get bored or exhausted there. I can frankly say, that I'll choose my YFB family over my college friends. I got everything inside the four walls of YOUTH FOR BlOOD.

Participation and Learningronak-with-youth-for-blood-2
In these years, I've participated as a volunteer in many programs conducted by YFB itself or as a co-partner. I've participated in some of the AWARENESS PROGRAMS like College Awareness, Street Awareness & Community Awareness and even Blood Donation Programs, where I learned so many things like how to deal with people or how to manage the whole program in a proper way. I'm still not perfect in all these things and am trying to learn from the experiences. Moreover I've also participated as a volunteer in many programs in which YFB worked as Co-partners. My most memorable program among them was "Interaction with Siddhant Lohani" which was organized by 'Our Biratnagar Dot Net' and YFB as co-partner. There I learned many things about management. In the program Mr. Saroj Karki (YFB's Founder and OB's Editor) was inspecting our work and at the end he figured out our mistakes which really helped me to improve.

Improves Personality
YFB really helped me to improve my personality. Today whatever I'm in social field it's because of YFB. YFB gave me positive name in social field. Currently I'm working as the Tail Twister of Leo Club Of Biratnagar United. Moreover today I've very good relations with Mr. Basanta Adhikari, also recognized as one of the Asia's Young Leader. It's all because of YFB.

Celebrates Festival
We celebrate almost all festival with all our members. We don't discriminate in the name of cast, creed, gender, religion, etc. We play Holi at YFB office in Holi festival, we play Deusi-Bhailo in Tihar, we celebrate Saraswati puja, and such other festivals. Best part is we can learn about different festivals, cultures, traditions, etc practically.

Sports and Entertainment
Youth For Blood organizes various refreshment programs for its volunteers. Like sports and adventurous activities like Hiking, Picnic, Camping, etc are organized every year. We volunteers enjoy it with our huge YFB family.

Biggest Responsibility
The biggest responsibility for a volunteer is to carry the Phone of YFB. YFB phone is the best way to connect needy person and blood donors. In this phone, needy people from different parts of the city or even from the nation calls and demands for the blood. Volunteer must have answer and satisfy each and everyone who ask for help. The most relief part is when we help needy people by helping them finding blood and we feel proud and happy when we see smile on the face of Patient.

Aim
The main aim of YFB is to save the valuable life of people by reducing the blood scarcity.

We all are waiting for a day, When the blood banks are filled with the sufficient blood, When no one needs the help of YFB and such other initiations. And, when initiations like YFB & others is dissolved.
