KATHMANDU, JUN 04 - Political party Bibeksheel Nepali has provided more than 6,000 households in 17 earthquake-affected districts with relief material since the April 25 earthquake. The party began relief distribution from Gorkha on April 27 and has covered more than 500 affected areas so far. Some 3,000 volunteers have been mobilised by the party for relief work. The party has created a separate unit, Bibeksheel Nepali Earthquake Response Task Force (BNERTF), to gather information, collect funds and coordinate relief, and to take care of rehabilitation and reconstruction work. As per the latest data made available by the party, it has distributed more than 80 tonnes of rice, 60,000 packets of instant noodles, 40,000 packets of biscuits, 18,000 litres of water and 10,000 tents and bu. . .
The Tribhuvan University (TU) has planned to hold exams of the Bachelor level third year beginning June 14. A meeting of TU's Office of the Controller of Examination reached the decision today. TU exam Controller, Keshav Bastola said it is essential to conduct the exams in mid-June because delaying it further will affect the academic calender. Bastola said students from the faculty of Education, Management, Humanities, Natural Science and Law have filled their examination forms. Earlier, the exams was scheduled for mid May, but was postponed after a destructive earthquake hit Nepal on April 25. . . .

Four school girls went missing after jumping into the Mahakali River apparantly after failing their exams. The missing teens aged 13 to 14 years old are the students of grades 6 and 7 at Daktu-based Rastriya Higher Secondary School. According to school teacher Rajendra Samanta, the missing students have been identified as Mamta, Chunra, Puja Koli and Mitu Lohar. The incident came to light after an Indian national from across the border saw the students jumping into the river. The place from where the students jumped is closer to the Indian border and is 21 km away from the district headquarters, Darchula.
