Nepali Here and You? – Brinju Thapa

So where do we head from here? Days passed, made some week and soon it will be a month; ‘A month of Bandh’. They want to make it a year I suppose, you know…to make it an anniversary and celebrate ‘National Bandh Day’ next year and the impact going to remain for eternity. Look! I never understood politics, didn’t want to actually but as much as I know, some people are demanding a space for their caste and taking help of violence to raise their voice. Yes, they might feel good about it but if any person’s idea needs violence to prove it right then let me tell you, it is absolutely worthless!!Some voice raised, declared Bandh and the remaining population? Accepted it so easily. No shops open, no transport, nothing at all. Fear inside people is the only thing I. . .

I WISH IF I WERE A PRIME MINISTER OF NEPAL – Simran Shrestha

The prime minister has an absolute genius for putting flamboyant labels on empty luggage. Being a prime minister is not an easy task. We should sacrifice a lot and work to our best. So the Prime Minister is called supremely person.   Every one dreams to be the great personality, as I too dream to be Prime Minister. If my dream truly come true then firstly in context of Nepal, I would like to reduce the rate of poverty, uneducated people, corruption, electricity and water resources problem, social evils like rape, girls abusing, etc which is the main cause for Nepal to be undeveloped. If this problems will decrease till zero then we will see new Nepal as developed as America, London, Canada, etc.   I have a great dream to remove corruption as it is the major issue of N. . .

Let’s make it together – Pooja Shah

Whenever I go back to my school days, I realize how I used to think that after few years a day would come when the strikes would be brought to the end forever and the country would gain political and economical stability. I had a strong feeling that I would be a part of the country which would be the most fascinating place to live in from each and every aspect and establish itself as the peace loving country once again. Now, looking at the present political and economic scenario of my country, I am forced to question myself, was I really wrong to dream about my country? Was I wrong to dream my country to be politically and economically stable and the best place to live in? I have no idea whom should I blame for the present situation of my country. Each time when I go thr. . .

The Dark Part of my Country – Simran Shrestha

I do not know from where to start – either starts with blaming the pathetic government or uneducated people or uncivilized citizen or human beings with no tail. “No topic” because no words and topic can explain the scenario of current Nepal. Firstly, RIP to all those people who died, may god give power and strength to their family.   I have many questions in my mind and heart. I still do not know from where to start! I have lost my identity and my rights. I thought who am I? Am I a girl or a human being or Newar or Nepali? Everyone is asking their rights- their states but where is my and others innocent citizen rights?  Where are our rights to study, to work, to walk freely, where is our rights? Are not we all Nepali? What are you asking and demanding for- A piece of land. . .

“LOVE: ONE WAY OR OTHER” – Shubhani Jha

At the very first, let me be clear I am not one of those kinds who madly fall in love and turn poetic. Nor I am among those who can read between the lines of those insanely written love quotes. Neither I belong to the category of fairytale-obsessed girls, who dream of prince charming on a white horse with looks like Tom Cruise and personality like Johnny Depp, among all others, coming to them in the epic Shahrukh khan pose and making another shitty Bollywood masala movie story (no offence). I am kind of different or maybe not, but I surely was, unless I grew up and the things like love, attraction, infatuation and crush made its grand entry with “Her Highness Adolescence” into my life, like any other random teenage girl. Romance is still a source of sitcom for me. . .

“Silence Beneath Me” – Ankit Das

Middle of the night I woke up, Woke up to see what I had, Found nothing except for silence, Hands empty, mind full of abuzz. Still awaited in the dark night, To see what I lost, Heard a voice saying “You were all alone in your journey, journey that led you nowhere”.   Back to senses, felt the silence. The silence that still persisted, Searching for my answers, Answers to question, I rose to myself. Away from my bed, I stood up. Something somewhere I missed, Missed the days, the days of happiness, And the days of togetherness.   I fought everyday, for every single moment, Still was left with silence, Silence existed beneath the days, The days of being myself, With questions haunting me, Sat on my bed with sil. . .

Find Hostels Online : Merohostel.com

Merohostel.com, as the name suggests, is a website built to provide information about hostels in Nepal. Bidish Acharya had this idea and started this project alone two years ago. The owner of the hostel he used to live in was the first person to make an investment of NRs. 2000 for the advertisement. From that money, he built a website secondhomenepal.com. He was all excited to get this done. After few weeks, he thought of getting a new domain ‘merohostel.com’ as it seemed catchier. As he didn’t have the money for this, he tried asking his father for the money but was directly refused with a typical, “What nonsense?” So, Bidish took a loan of NRs. 1500 from his hostel owner, with a promise to pay it back in 3 months, and bought the domain. He then thought of visiting another hoste. . .
