Being Viratian -Ronak Agrawal

It pains when someone tease me by the nick name of my idol. It pains when someone unnecessarily criticize my hero using vulgar words.

Hello I'm a young boy from Biratnagar, biggest fan of India's Number 1 batsman Virat Kohli. I feel proud to be his fan. Whoever know me, they know me as a Viratian. Many Virat fans around the city tag me in their posts and chat with me for hours in social media.

Interesting thing is, in past couple of years I've made deep friendship with many Viratians from all across India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka through my Facebook Group named "International Virat Kohli Fans Club" which I created couple of years ago and it has around 40,000 members till now. I have also created two Facebook Pages "Virat Kohli: Nightmare For Bowlers" (5K likes).

Generally in Nepal, if we support any Sports person or Political Leaders except Bollywood Stars from India, it's the matter of shame for us. People starts calling us 'Dhoti' or something like that. It's all because of people's mentality. Despite of that still there are many Nepalese who follow Indian players.

This hatred all started from the past. According to the history, Indian rulers and politicians did injustice with Nepal. They not just only taken Nepal's land but also claimed that Gautam Buddha was born in India. This made Nepalese people to hate India. And in hatred, Nepalese people kept several nick names of Indian people, which is really disgraceful to hear. And these sorts of hatred also gives pain to my heart.  I'm a Nepali Citizen of Indian origin and majority of my family members and relatives live in India. But As a responsible citizen of Nepal, I love my nation more than my relatives does. I just want this hatred to come to an end because this hatred not only hurts me but also hurts all those Nepali Citizens who are of Indian Origin. I hope you understood what I want to deliver.

If we study the people's mentality of Biratnagar or of Kathmandu we'll find, if Indian Cricket Team lose any matches then majority of them becomes happy and express it in social media by trolling the Indian players. These sorts of disgraceful activities is really painful. And it's even more painful for me when some people criticize my idol Virat unnecessarily in front of me when I'm alone and they are in numbers. No matters what Virat does, no matter how good he play, no matters how much he is dedicated towards his team, despite the injuries; haters will still find their way to troll him. I am not saying they can't, but inclusion of nationality is something that pains.

Sometimes what I feel is, this world is full of Politics. People hate and disrespect each other on the basis of history and politics, disregarding the talent. Just because their politics are bad, doesn't mean all the people of India are also bad. If you study them minutely, you'll get to know that they are very kind and wants Nepal's improvement. During the devastating Earthquake of 2015, their support was appreciable. I am not supporting what their Medias did here. Well I also hate the way their media praise and criticize their own players.

On 16th June 2012, Indian World Cup Winning Captain MS Dhoni visited Nepal after the invitation from CAN. Before his visit CAN President Tanka Aangbuhang said, "Dhoni's visit could be beneficial on number of reasons. We will have the opportunity to share ideas with him on ways to develop Nepali cricket."  CAN General Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel also said, "Dhoni's visit will be highly inspirational to Nepali Cricketers. Everyone knows the stature of Dhoni. Just a tip from him to our cricketers will carry a great significance." Dhoni went to Kirtipur ground, talked with players, motivated them.

On 11th September 2015 in a program named 'Yuwaharu Sanga Siddhant Lohani' by OurBiratnagar dot net, Nepal's hard hitting young talent Mr.Siddhant Lohani said, "we need to remember and thank what BCCI did by providing us practice matches in Dharmashala at a time when our practice sessions were hampered because of the devastating earthquake.'

Now if you analyze both the above statements you'll know how the matured people think. Cricket committees from both nations have very good relationship.

There is political problem between India and Pakistan but when it comes to sports, they share same stadium and enjoy the game. Of course heat occurs but that is the beauty of game. But when we see the cricketers of both the nation, we will find there exist the mutual respect between the players. Shoiab Akhtar and Washim Akram call India as their second home. Pakistan's Women Team Captain recently said Virat is most famous in their team and they enjoy watching him play. Virat himself is biggest wisher of Mohammad Amir who has even donated his bat for him. Recently in social media, I've seen so many posts from Pakistan in which they praised and expressed their love and respect towards Virat. Despite the political combat, Pakistani fans are expressing their love towards Virat, Sachin, Dhoni, Dravid and other Indian players. Similarly Indian fans expressing their respect towards Shoaib Akhtar, Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, etc and other Pakistani Players. We can see that they aren't including Politics in Cricket.

So what I wanna say is let's not include Politics in Sports. Let's learn to respect the talent instead of being jealous and criticizing them. I'm waiting for the day when it all will be changed. The day when people of both the nations share joys and sorrows. The day when this part of earth becomes Heaven.
