A sleep specialist shares 5 tips for getting better rest on a work night

You have to be up for work in six hours, but this fact is quickly lost among the thousand other thoughts running through your mind. If this scenario seems familiar, you're not alone. More than a third of Americans don't get enough sleep, according to a study released by the CDC's Division of Population Health in February. The survey found that almost 35% of adults get less than seven hours of sleep per night, the recommended minimum amount to reduce the risk of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, and cardiovascular disease. How ISIS was really founded

Since its creation, we have learned about the Islamic State from its enemies. Its story has largely been told by those fighting the group in Iraq and Syria, traumatized civilians who have escaped its brutal rule, and the occasional defector. That is about to change. This is the story of Abu Ahmad, a Syrian operative for the Islamic State who witnessed the group’s lightning expansion firsthand and spent months among its most notorious foreign fighters.  In this series of three articles, he provides unique insight into how Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s political scheming paved the way for the Islamic State’s expansion into Syria, al Qaeda’s efforts to stem the group’s rise, and the terrifying weapons in the arsenal of the self-proclaimed “caliphate.” Some names and details h. . .

This little-known app could take on Facebook in a key market

Messaging could be the next big thing. If it is, Line is perfectly positioned to ride the trend to untold riches. The app has four to five times the number of monthly active users as Facebook in Japan and is similarly popular in Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia. David Gibson, an analyst at Macquarie Research, thinks the company's stock price will shoot up 32% higher on the Japanese markets. The main attraction isn't even the crazy popular messaging app, but rather it's the ad platform behind it. "Our report is differentiated from others in the market because we met with six major ad agencies to understand their attitude to the LINE Ad Platform," Gibson said in a note to clients. The biggest markets for mobile ads in Japan are Facebook, Twitter, and Yahoo Japan. These markets are. . .
