Construction work in Biratnagar will be put on hold due to monsoon

Gopalprasad pokharel,(Morang), June 13: The construction of drainage pipe and sewer line in Biratnagar thoroughfare – which started two years ago – will be put on hold again with the arrival of the monsoon season. The construction was postponed citing that the downpour will impact the work and cause damages. The various wards of Biratnagar are punctuated with potholes and the delay in completion of the sewerage system has further enraged the town dwellers. The construction company repairing the roads and the drainage system has not heeded to residents' call for ramping up the construction. Medium City Integrated Environmental Reform Project's Project Manager, Upendra Baral, said the construction work of such a nature that will not be impacted by the monsoon rain will be given continuit. . .

The much hyped about Secondary Towns Integrated Urban Environment Improvement Project (STIUEIP) was commenced on October 2014 but due to various developmental and political bottlenecks missed its prescribed deadline of May 2016. BBA introduces training for SLC graduates

4th April, 2016, Biratnagar Basketball Academy is organizing two-month long talent hunt programme which selects SLC graduates for a full basketball scholarship. The selected players will receive full scholarship in different colleges of Biratnagar and will also receive basketball trainings on a regular basis.
